Privacy notice

Founding list. Last updated October 11, 2026.

This page explains what we keep when you join the Future Self Call founding list, how we count visits to these pages, why, and how to have your data deleted. The short version: we keep what you type into the founding list form, plus a few technical details, and we use it to tell you when the pilot opens. We count visits ourselves, without cookies. We don't sell any of it.

Who we are

Future Self Call is run by Jan ("we", "us"). We decide how the founding list data is used, which makes us the controller under the EU and UK GDPR.

Questions or requests: hello@thenameyoucarry.com

The rules for the founding list and, later, the pilot are in our terms.

This notice covers the founding list and these web pages. The pilot itself (the calls and your voice) will have its own notice, which you'll see before you sign up for it.

What we collect when you join

What we don't collect

Counting visits

The main page and the blog include a small script of our own that counts visits. It doesn't set cookies, doesn't save anything on your device, and doesn't give you an ID. It talks only to our own server, never to an outside analytics company. Each time you open one of these pages, it sends:

On the main page it also notes three moments, without anything you typed: that the founding list form came into view, that a signup went through, and which gift was downloaded. Our hosting provider adds the country your connection comes from.

To tell how many different visitors came on a given day without cookies, our server combines your IP address, your browser's user agent, the date and a secret value into a one-way hash (a scrambled code that can't be turned back). The code changes every day, so your visits on different days can't be linked, and we never store the IP address itself. A second daily code made the same way from the IP address alone limits how many counts one connection can send. Visits from known bots and automated browsers aren't counted.

We use these counts only as totals, to see which pages and links bring people here. Each morning the person who runs Future Self Call gets an email with yesterday's totals (visits, signups, and the countries of new signups), never with anyone's email address. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing what works. The counts are deleted automatically after 13 months.

Why we use it

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising. We don't use it to make automated decisions about you.

Who else handles it

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards they offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your entry only as long as we need it for opening the pilot and telling you about it. If the pilot doesn't go ahead, we delete the list. If you ask us to remove you, we delete your entry. The attempt counter used against bots is deleted automatically after 24 hours. Visit counts (see "Counting visits") are deleted automatically after 13 months.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can stop the emails at any time.

If you're in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to withdraw your consent, to object to our use of your data, to restrict it, and to get a copy of it in a portable format. You can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). We'd appreciate the chance to fix things first.

Some US states give their residents similar rights. We honor access and deletion requests from everyone.

How to have your data deleted

Email hello@thenameyoucarry.com from the address you joined with and ask us to remove you, or reply to any email we send you. We'll confirm once it's done, within one month at the latest.

Age

The founding list and the pilot are for people 18 and older. If you're younger, please don't join. If we learn that someone under 18 joined, we delete their entry.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use the founding list, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change matters for you, we'll tell you before it applies.
