How it’s calculated
An old way of counting, with the math shown
In Hebrew, every letter is also a number. Your reading counts your name with mispar katan, a traditional form of gematria that keeps every value between 1 and 9. That’s why Yud counts as 1 here, not 10, and Kuf as 1, not 100. Your letters give three of your numbers. Your birth date gives the other two, your Life Path and your personal year, the way modern numerology counts them.

No. It uses gematria, a traditional Jewish way of counting letters, and it draws on the stories behind Hebrew names. It isn’t a religious service and it doesn’t ask anything of you. It doesn’t tell fortunes or predict anything. You don’t need to be observant, belong to a synagogue, or read Hebrew.
Most Hebrew names have one standard spelling, and we use it. Some, especially Yiddish names like Golda or Faiga, can be written more than one way, and the letters change the numbers. When that’s the case, we ask which spelling is yours. If you’re not sure, we confirm it with you by email before we begin.
