# Future Self Call > Future Self Call is a morning phone call from "future you", about a year ahead, optionally in your own voice (cloned only with explicit consent) or in a different voice. Each call is about two minutes: living in the end, a gratitude moment, one small step for today, and your own sentence said out loud together. It is an AI service and says so at the start of every call. It is a wellbeing practice, not therapy or medical, legal or financial advice. It makes no promises about money, relationships or health. The founding list is free and open now; the pilot is 14 mornings. The blog explains the practices people group under "manifesting" (future self journaling, affirmations, scripting, the law of assumption, the 369 method) and links the peer-reviewed research behind each one. Articles open with a short direct answer, define their terms, list their numbers with sources, and end with a question-and-answer section. Quoting is welcome with a link to the article. ## Articles - [The science behind manifesting: why speaking from your future works](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/blog/science-behind-manifesting/): Manifesting hasn't been studied as one single method, but most of the habits inside it have, and several hold up well. Feeling close to your future self, reflecting on your values, picturing the path and planning for the obstacle, gratitude, and talking to yourself as "you" all have peer-reviewed research behind them. Put in the right order, they make a two-minute morning practice with real reasons to work. - [A letter from your future self: how to write one, plus 40 future self journaling prompts](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/blog/letter-from-your-future-self/): A letter from your future self is a short letter you write as yourself, about a year from now, to the person you are today. It works best as a one-page scene: where you are, what you remember about today, a thank-you, one thing you know now, and one small request for this week. Research on future self-continuity suggests that making future you feel this close and real helps people act for them. - [Affirmations in your own voice: why hearing yourself hits differently](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/blog/affirmations-in-your-own-voice/): Hearing an affirmation in your own voice can land harder than reading it. In a 2025 MIT study, people who heard their ideal self speak in a clone of their own voice reported the highest confidence and motivation of three formats, and memory research shows we remember words better when we say them, and when we hear ourselves say them. The affirmations with the most research behind them are about your values, said in a form you can believe. - [How to manifest: a morning practice that actually sticks](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/blog/how-to-manifest/): To manifest, in the everyday sense, choose one thing you want, write it as if it already happened, name the value behind it, picture the path and the one obstacle likely to get in the way, then take one small step today. Done each morning in about five minutes, every part of that draws on a technique researchers have studied: future self-continuity, values affirmation, mental contrasting with if-then plans (WOOP), and gratitude. - [The law of assumption and the 369 method, explained](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/blog/law-of-assumption-369-method/): The law of assumption is Neville Goddard's teaching that you live from the feeling that what you want is already yours, often called "living in the end." The 369 method is a repetition ritual: write one sentence 3 times in the morning, 6 times at midday and 9 times at night, usually for 33 days. Neither has been studied by name, but the habits inside them, like feeling close to your future self, saying a sentence out loud, and planning when you'll do it, have research behind them. ## Product - [Future Self Call](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/): what the call is, the 14-morning ritual plan, the research the call is built on, and the free founding list. - [Blog index](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/blog/): all articles. ## Optional - [Privacy notice](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/privacy/): what the founding list keeps, how visits are counted without cookies, and how to have it deleted. - [Terms](https://thenameyoucarry.com/future-self/terms/): the free founding list and gifts now, and the terms of the paid pilot when it opens.
